Valentines Day | Toph x Sokka | A:tLA

OKAY SO
I drew this a few days ago but I just didn't upload it because I was busy and I don't think it even occurred to me but I realized that now is a good time~ ;u;
And uh...
It's, you know, Toph and Sokka as cats.
Did I ever tell you guys that this is like, my forever-OTP? Like the biggest OTP out of all the other ones? I guess I only really thought about it when I left the internets and rewatched all of A:tLA and stuff, but oh my god, that just reminded me.

I know, Sukka is canon, but do you really think they could have managed a long-distance relationship after the war? Sokka always away doing what he does and Suki being a Kyoshi Warrior all the time? And not to mention, Sokka would be hanging out with Toph while he's away from Suki most of the time, and he does end up helping her with the metal bending academy for quite awhile.

There's just so many little jabs at the idea of Tokka in the show and I'll be like "woaaaah what did I just see" and I'll have to rewind the episode I'm watching and I'll realize I just watched a very subtle hint at Tokka. And then the times where it's obvious it's just aaaahhh fiosdjoidi jio ;u;

This is the most adorable ship, you guys.
Hands down.

And I want to draw ALL THE FANART of these guys sooo badly, but I can't draw humans? At all? So cats had to suffice.

I gave Toph the design of a black cat. I wanted to make her a siamese for awhile since she comes from a high-class, wealthy, fancy family, but then I realized... Isn't she different from them? A kind of black sheep, right? So I made her different. She has the build and body of a siamese, but a different coat color. And her hair is black, so I suppose that works out well. |D And I also thought siamese would work since her entire design is just full of contrasts, from her really pale skin to her extremely dark hair to pale and foggy eyes and then her personality is so different from what you'd expect and jfsidojfio. But 'black cat' won out in the end, and she's still not as she seems. I think the rest of her family would still be siamese, though.

And then there's Sokka. I was originally going to make him a dark brown cat, since that's his hair color and all. But then I decided on this design of blue-grays because of his important background in his tribe. He was always concerned with being a warrior and fighting for his people and wanted to be honorable and perfect like he thought his father was and stuff. ;A; So I tried to make it, I dunno, more patriotic? And I was going to put the traditional war paint design on his face and muzzle, but it didn't seem to fit, so I settled with the three slash markings that they tended to use as well. Gave him a nick in the ear because he's been through so much in battles and then there's the war and he's just had a pretty rough time. Aaaand there's a fluffy and noticeable ruff because his hair is pretty long and messy when not tied up, and he's known for his ponytail excuse me, warrior's wolf tail.
